Lil’ Kim Lights Up Mill River Park with Alive At Five Performance
Hip Hop Star Stuns as City’s Annual Summer Concert Series Continues
STAMFORD — Fans packed into Mill River Park to enjoy a night of hip-hop classics and some of their favorite throwback songs. On Thursday, August 1, Lil’ Kim was front and center for a memorable performance for attendees.
Leading up to her performance, the second installment of Alive at Five saw a performance by DJ Taela Naomi from Brooklyn, NY. Naomi mixed a medley of hip-hop and pop songs like Beyonce’s “Cuff It,” Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me),” and Kellis’s “Milkshake.”
Lil Kim opened with her song “Lighter’s Up” and continued to harp on some of her biggest hits like “Magic Stick” and “Too Bad.” She gave a big shoutout to the hip-hop icon, the late Notorious B.I.G., who previously discovered her.
The concert event offered attendees several food and drink options, including outposts from local eateries like Hop & Vine Taproom, Penny Cha Bubble Tea, Blind Rhino, and Reddi Rooster.
Several businesses and brands were also camped out around the fountain, such as Fine Fettle Dispensary, Mohegan Sun Casino, Reign Energy Drinks, Kit NA Brewing, and others. Most notable was the Poland Springs booth, a sponsor of Alive At Five, which supplied concertgoers with complimentary water bottles throughout the night. Attendees could also purchase drink tickets for $10, which could be redeemed for a beer or canned cocktail.
Coming Up: Wyclef Jean
Next week, Buck n Regg of Hot 93.7 will start things off before Wyclef Jean plays some of his popular tunes to close out this year’s Alive At Five concert series. Tickets for the show can be purchased here.
