Alive At Five Closes Out 2024 Concert Series with Memorable Wyclef Jean Show
Fugees’ Lead Guitarist Turns Up the Volume in Mill River Park
STAMFORD — In front of a packed downtown Stamford crowd, Wyclef Jean rocked the Poland Spring Stage as Alive At Five wrapped up for 2024 on Thursday, August 8. It was a memorable night filled with music from throughout his vast catalog made over the years.
Buck n Regg of The Hot Morning Show on HOT 93.7 got the beats bumping to set the tone and get everyone dancing.
From playing “Ready or Not,” a tune by his group Fugees, to “Maria Maria,” a popular song recorded with Carlos Santana, Jean brought the musical heat for his set to close out the popular concert series.
Several drink and food vendors were on hand to offer attendees a variety of selections for dinner options. Additionally, sponsors were on scene to provide merch and swag to interested concertgoers while highlighting their brands.
At one point, Jean made a plea for criminal justice reform which earned applause from the audience. Afterwards, he sang Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song” and the Fugees’ “Zealots.”
Later, Jean got patriotic with a rendition of the National Anthem. The rain poured down, yet he remained unfazed while an American flag waved on the screen behind him.
As the last notes echoed throughout Mill River Park, fans cheered to what would be the last song of the last Alive At Five performance until next year.
