Wyclef Jean Visiting Stamford Thursday For Final Alive At Five Show of 2024
Former Fugees Lead Guitarist Taking the Stage on Thursday
STAMFORD — After two packed performances from Sublime with Rome and Lil’ Kim, Stamford Downtown will close out its 2024 edition of the Alive At Five concert series with Haitian rapper Wyclef Jean. The former Fugees member has had a highly successful solo career since the group first stopped playing together in 1998.

Concert Preview: Thursday, August 8
Alive At Five concludes with a third and final concert this Thursday, August 8, at Mill River Park. The show will include an opening performance by Buck n Regg, cohosts of the Buck n Regg The Hot Morning Show on radio station HOT 93.7. The duo are well-known for their popular show which airs on weekdays from 6:00 am to 10:00 am.
As the headliner, all eyes will then turn to Wyclef Jean. The Haiti native is the recipient of Emmy and Golden Globe nominations, and won three Grammy Awards. His smash hit “Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill),” off of the 2007 album Carnival Vol. II: Memoirs of an Immigrant, featured vocals by Akon, Lil Wayne, and Niia.
Tickets can be purchased here for $40 for general admission or $115 for VIP admission. Doors open at 5:00 pm and attendees must be at least 21 years old.
Downtown Dance Event
On Wednesday, August 7, Stamford Downtown is hosting a dance performance at 7:00 pm on the Poland Spring Stage in Mill River Park. The event is returning for a third year with “opening acts from Stamford-based dance schools and ethnic companies celebrating world culture,” according to a press release.
They include East Coast Contemporary Ballet, Ballet School of Stamford, and Pender-Keady Academy of Irish Dancing.
After that, performers with Thomas/Ortiz Dance, a New Canaan-based contemporary dance company, will take the stage. There is no cost for admission, but registration is requested and can be filled out here.
